He put anew song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40:3 NAS

This year the hubby and I had promised not to buy each other Christmas gifts. After our big cross-country move, presents just weren’t in the budget. I had done my best to make cards and small gifts to share our love with close friends and family. And I had only bought a couple, small, true necessity items for my man. But I just love to buy presents! And I especially love to buy presents for my sweetheart....

And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel." Genesis 3:15 NIV
God's plan for salvation was revealed little bit by little bit throughout the ages until finally His Son came to earth. This passage from Genesis reveals the first piece of the puzzle that made up His plan.

The Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers seated at their tables. And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables; and to those who were selling the doves He said, "Take these things away; stop making My Father's house a place of business." His disciples remembered that it was written, "ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE WILL CONSUME ME." John 2:13-18 NAS
It might seem like an odd passage to highlight during the Christmas season, but as we mine for gems from this section of Scripture, I think there is some treasure here for us.

Blessings on you and yours as you celebrate all the Lord has done this past year!
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. Colossians 2:6-7

Wise Woman Wednesdays - Empty?

Wise Woman Wednesdays
“... they went far from Me and walked after emptiness and became empty...” Jeremiah 2:5
Especially during this busy time of year, us ladies find ourselves worn out and empty! We are wise to continually check our motives for the things we do and check to see if they line up with the Father’s heart.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:14 NAS
As we draw near to Thanksgiving and count our blessings, I find one of the sweetest blessings after my salvation to be found in the knowledge of what I know is coming.
I saw an advertisement for a TV movie in which a slightly senior woman was diagnosed with cancer. She told her doctor she knew how the story ended and she liked beginnings better. Those words drifted in and out of my thoughts for days. I know how the story ends, and I must say, I think the end is much better than the beginning!
